Of course, you can browse open houses, but if you do come across your next home, your offer won’t be considered with a home sale contingency in place. And the definition is exactly what it sounds like…that is a situation where the hopeful buyer of House A needs to sell their current home, House B, to have the money to close. Thus, the purchase is CONTINGENT on the sale of their home.
